Emma has been practising in the Family Law jurisdiction for more than 10 years. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in January 2002. Originally working in Central Queensland, Emma has experience in complex parenting matters, property settlements, child and spousal maintenance (including the Child Support Agency), and de facto property matters. Emma has also worked in the areas of criminal law, succession law, general litigation and estates administration and litigation. As a result of her experience, Emma was appointed to the panel of Independent Children's Lawyers in 2008.

In 2007, Emma was successful in gaining accreditation as a Family Law Specialist, requiring her to undertake 3 months of intensive study, culminating in an exam, a mock file and a simulated interview. There are only 149 solicitors in Queensland who hold specialist accreditation in Family Law.

Emma has a Certificate in Mediation and in 2010, she completed the Practice Management Course, which gives her the necessary qualifications to be appointed as a Partner in any firm in Queensland. As an associate she is on the partnership pathway.

Community assistance is a passion of Emma's and she is currently the President of the Zonta Brisbane Metro Breakfast Club. Emma is a past volunteer solicitor at the Central Qld Community Legal Centre as well as the Women's Legal Service in Brisbane.
